For the past several months, Ivy has had the distinct pleasure of taking piano lessons from a very kind lady named Anne C. Not only is Anne a wonderfully patient teacher to Ivy, she also has a delicious little boy named Zachary.

He is one of the pleasantest babies we know.

Fortunaly he had just woken up and wasn’t quite sure what the camera was doing in front of my face…

Charlotte entertained him while I snapped away.

It didn’t last long though, and pretty soon he was tackling Charlotte, trying to eat my camera and making dinosaur roars.
Yesterday I thought, “Oh no! It has been a long time since I posted a blog update!” Circumstances lately have not allowed for fantastic picture-taking opportunities (it’s hot, we haven’t gone anywhere except Wal-Mart, some or all of us have been in some stage of sickness, my computer has been very slow lately, and we’ve been generally busy). And since pictures take up most of the content here, I guess I have a good excuse. (?)
So how about some pictures of the everyday moments around here?
:: cooking (I’ve re-discovered my stash of childrens’ cookbooks .)

:: reading (notice she’s dressed for the book topic…we were headed out the door to the pool…)

:: taking care of very sick child #1

:: taking care of very sick child #2

:: learning (we’re adding math to our schedule for school this fall, and it’s so much fun!)

:: harvesting

:: stack of dirty dishes, waiting to be washed and put away…

:: baking (and eating…mmmm…)

:: stack of fabric #1, waiting to be cut and sewn

:: stack of fabric #2, also waiting to be cut and sewn

(the fall sewing projects are planned out, and I can’t wait to turn these delicious fabrics into clothes for the children!)
:: trying out new sewing ideas, for future baby quilt gifts…

(we all need to have a moment of applause here for my friend Tracy, who so patiently helped me with the mathy-angle part of this little project!)
:: welcoming a new niece
