The sewing machine has been humming along for the past couple weeks.  (Even moreso, now that I’ve finally taught the girls this week to use the sewing machine by themselves.  But more on that later.)

I’ve been meaning to post about this shirt for a few weeks.  Another sewing blog I read (can’t remember which one) reviewed this pattern and I knew right away I’d like to try it out. It’s from the Collette line of patterns (the Violet shirt), and oh my.  This was by far the best pattern I have ever used:  everything was explained, all the pieces matched up, and it seemed to a really well-thought-out pattern.  Nothing fancy, but ended up being a shirt I would probably buy in a store.

I also finished up Asher’s quilt.  He sure loves it!  This was also a very easy pattern (we’re fine with easy around here these days), and it took me just a couple days to piece the top together.  I found it at the Moda Bake Shop, and I love the fabric they use in the quilt there.

Took me a while to figure out what binding to use, but I finally decided on a dark brown polka-dot.  Seems to have fit just fine!
